Usually this post would be about the products I got in my July Ipsy bag. After last month’s bag though, I decided to unsubscribe.
Why, you may ask? It came down to three big reasons:
- Ipsy never listened – Seriously…they didn’t. I would review every bag’s products and still didn’t get what I asked for. No, Ipsy, I don’t like nude eyeshadows, blushes or boring nail polishes! It got tiresome receiving the same types of products over and over again.
- Money – When it came down to it, I didn’t want to keep spending $10 a month for a bag I didn’t always like. Between Ipsy and Sephora Play, the latter always has great products and is worth the money more so than Ipsy.
- Brands that didn’t work – I get that Ipsy’s big appeal is drugstore brands. But most of these brands were poor quality and if I’m subscribed to a makeup bag, I expect the best products, not some crappy ones thrown in by Ipsy.
So yes…Ipsy was a great subscription service when I first got into makeup. But now these reasons are more important to me. For the time being, I will stick with Sephora Play because I trust the curators more!
Thanks for reading, my loves 🙂 til next time
